I'm getting FPS in single digits or teens, at best, in missions and the hangar at every resolution and even with the absolute lowest graphics settings as adjusted in the in-game menu and in the installer. I have searched the help forum thoroughly and followed all tips about how to change desktop resolution, tweak antialiasing settings, etc. Nothing works and the game is unplayable.

I have an i5-6600k and GTX 1070. I am seeing lots of people with less powerful rigs getting 60 FPS with "dips" into the 40s. Any suggestions?

Obligatory question: is your screen running at 60Hz? If not, try locking it to 60Hz.

Can you check that the game is using your GTX 1070? It should appear in the Video Options. Can you post your desktop resolution? Try setting it to 1920x1080.

Also: make sure that your game is using Hardware Acceleration.

Yes, screen is locked to 60Hz via Nvidia control panel.

Hardware acceleration is on and card properly appears in video options. My monitor's native resolution is 2560x1440. I've dropped it down as low as 1280x720 in the control panel (NOT the game settings) to see if that made any difference and it doesn't.

I'll try reinstalling and see if that works. :kopfwand:

Edit: thank you for the help, by the way.

What performance are you getting if you use Jeremy's or Reimar's ddraw? You should be able to select them using the Babu Frik configurator. At this point I'm thinking maybe something went wrong during the installation. Try doing a fresh install of XWAU 2020 over the original game again. BTW, what version of the game are you running? Steam? GoG? Other?

Same problem that captaintaco, very bad performance with many setups and resolutions. I've changed ddraw to Jeremy's with Babu Frik config as blue_max said and the performance now is right.

I was having performance issues too with the original Mega Patch, and the hotfix. I just conducted a clean re-install, patched up to 1.1, and everything seems much better now. Using the GoG version.
