Hey guys been a while. Saw videos and wanted to reinstall I had no idea you guys were so close to being finished now great work to the team!

Here are the 3 issues I ran into when I got everything setup and installed

1. I did a regular 1 on 1 battle with fighters and star ships some groups protecting and some attacking etc. About half way through my team all shot off to 99km and I was left basically alone and getting attacked by everything. I remember this issue from a really long time ago. I did a search but the newest thing that came up was a tutorial from 2015 that said the 'hooks' would be updated?

2. Also during that battle the music cut out completely and went silent the rest of the battle. I remember this being an issue back in the day and you had to disable hyperthreading on your CPU to fix it but obviously we live in a much different world now is there a fix for this?

3. The last one I am not sure if I can explain well or not but basically while I was flying around I noticed when facing a planet the joystick would start to 'fight' me and not let me fly towards the planet but would push me around it which was messing me up since I was trying to fly in that direction to get away from someone attacking me. Not sure if that makes sense or not.

So far that's all I have ran into everything else looks really good and I am enjoying it!

Side note: the XWAU pack should not affect online MP right? I played with some friends the other night and we experienced some severe lag randomly throughout the battle seemed like no rhyme or reason to it. We all have really fast connections too it's not like anyone is on DSL or anything.

Hi there, been a while!

I am not sure about your first issue, maybe @blue_max has an idea there. The second and third issues are known but without a fix, the music issues are very hard to pin down and we unfortunately have no idea what the underlying cause is and how to fix this. The third issue is a limitation of the XWA engine and this was also present in the unmodified game. It has to do with the way that the game interprets the the three flight axis. Going straight 'up' or 'down' will result in a gimbal lock which wont let you fly into that direction. So far we have not found a solution for that.

As for MP, as far as I know the biggest issue there is that you need to make sure everybody has the exact same setup. So all options must be exactly the same, otherwise lag can occur during multiplayer matches. Unfortunately this is another limitation of the original engine that we have no way around yet.

Sorry, I have no idea why stuff would suddenly jump off to 99km away, but if there's a way to reproduce the issue, I'll try and take a look.

Hey Forceflow it has been a while! I kind of figured with the other two was hoping there would be some breakthrough but oh well. Probably better to play with music off in combat simulator. As for MP we all did a fresh install and only did the XWAU patch and the 2nd update that's it. It was solid for the most part but we would hit these areas of really bad lag every once and a while and it would be brutal for for those few seconds.

Maybe this helps?

Basically about half way through this battle I noticed the Dreadnaught and the Assault Frigate were taking a beating and then they were both destroyed. After that everything started attacking me all at once. I hit F1 to see where my allies were and both the ATR and SPC (orange and escort) were 99.99 KM away. There was 1 Orange that was heavily damaged and a full flight group of Escort with varying levels of damage. So I was essentially alone with squads of Ties attacking me.

Hello,
The 99 km issue in skirmish is related to the spec.rci file not being updated.

To regenerate the "spec.rci" file, delete it. The file will be generated when you launch the game.
