Proposal of aid for the balancing of weapons and ships.

Hi everybody !

I came across HD v1.6 and VR pcks at the end of last year! I must admit that
I am bleuffé by what you have done with it, it is really very good work! :)

I have a lot of ideas to improve X-Wing Aliance, especially with strafe, and with the HUD:
(the aiming system has become much too achaic today (add the predictive point
active target, and even fire assist), the display of all ships in
selection frames ...)

I would also like to point out that I have completely modified a 12ne of space combat games;
in which I revised all the flight statistics of ships and weapons, wedged on those of current fighters, and more; my goal,
being to make these games a lot more nervous and realistic!
(on average, maneuverability between x2 and 3, acceleration x2/3, speed x1.5/2 ...)
So I know how to go about balancing this type of game properly!

I offer my help (if you don't mind) for balancing stats and improving
of the HUD, (and possibly its graphics; yes, I am a graphic designer :)).

Hi @Anardil , while we do appreciate the enthusiasm and any offer of help we have a bit of an issue with you redistributing our (and other modders) models with no proper credit or asking for permission to do so.
So I do want to ask you to remove your XWA mods that use our models. The changes that you did to the stats can easily be done without including the models and you are of course free to create a mod that uses the XWAU installation as a base and then add any changes to it. (You should also check out the XWAU 2020 mega installer since there have been plenty of additions and further upgrades to the old 1.6 installer)

As for your offer of help, we certainly are always looking for people helping out. However you should be aware of that the XWAU itself does not want to radically change the base game other than the visuals. Any changes in speed and maneuverability would require a massive redesign and rebalancing of every single mission. As it is our goal to keep the single player campaign intact I am afraid that the changes you propose don't really fit into what we are attempting to do. I am also afraid that there aren't many options to enhance and change the HUDs since that would require altering the base game. While we managed to change some behavior of the game I don't think there are too many things that can be changed right now.
