January Update

This is just a relatively small update to let you all know how things are progressing. We are now officially in our Beta testing stages! The closed Beta begun on 22-01-2021 and we've got several volunteers now vigorously testing both Classic and Reimagined campaigns for any and all bugs that can be caught as well as giving us feedback on any gameplay and balance issues. So far we have already have over 250 individual bug reports submitted and we've already fixed or eliminated at least two thirds of them. This should prove our commitment in trying to deliver as polished a product as we can for you all to enjoy.

Given the current pace of testing, I would say that the Beta will probably last for several weeks so I'm not entirely sure on how this will affect our release date as of yet, but we don't intend to release until we're sure we've eliminated as many bugs as we can! This project has become a large and ambitious one, pushing the engine in ways beyond XWAU so there are sometimes unexpected issues that arise. However being in a Beta state should tell you just how far along we are now. We have a complete product, its now down to ironing out all the issues. We're nearly there guys so stay tuned :handy:

This is wonderful news! Now I just need to decide how I want to upgrade my hardware so I can enjoy XWAU and TFTC to the fullest.

Angel will you all be working on XW afterward or leaving that to the XWVM project? Forgive me if this has been addressed/answered elsewhere.

I have no plans to work on X-Wing. After TFTC's initial release, my next project is to reimagine Battles 9-13 of the Classic campaign. After that, I don't know :)

I cannot guarantee end of Feb at this point, if anything Beta testing has shown me how much polishing, bug fixing and balance we still need to do, but I'll keep you all updated :)

Can you take in consideration in the future to do a Xwing vs Tie Fighter Total Conversion ?

A few of us are interested in doing other conversions. I've wanted to do more for a long time.
If that happens it could take a long time still. The TFTC has taken a long time to make and there's still a lot to finish.
I joined TFTC getting on close to a year ago and there was a lot done before that so you can see these things aren't quick and simple.
But we are unlocking more and more of the game so things are getting easier.

Fantastic work - really looking forward to trying this out.

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but will the conversion be available in VR?

Yes you can use VR as we are built upon XWAU so we take advantage of everything that has to offer, including VR :)

Hi Angel, Please excuse me: a question: With TFTC there is a way to play all missions in simulator ? Or another way to choose a single mission without complete all game ?

A pilot file that has all the missions completed can go back and play any mission you like in the sim in any order

This is true for XWA original mission, but if your have for example 100 custom missions (like in this case) "XWA_Piloteer.exe" have only 20 empty slot.

So for what I know is not possible play in the simulator all missions but only 20.

If there is another way, please let me known that I' am interested.

This is not the case as far as I'm aware. I use a pilot file with everything unlocked just fine but we don't go past 100 custom missions in one campaign here.

Hi Angel, only for my curioisty: your missions.lst start from 0 or 7 ?

!BATTLE_7_HEADER![Historical Missions: X-Wing]
//
61
* 1b8m1xwc.tie
!MISSION_61_DESC!Dev's Sidestep

I have a old missions.lst of Xwing Total Converter (11 battles of 10 missions, for a total of 103 missions) that start from 7 the mission start from 61.

The unlocked pilot that I have show only the first 20 missions, becouse "XWA_Piloteer.exe" can't go more 20 empty slot.

Do you have a pilot that allow to play all missions in the simulator ?

If yes, I' am curios to know how you have create this pilot, can be very useful.

TFTC Classic goes this far:

//
!BATTLE_13_HEADER![Battle 13: The Emperor's Will]
//

and then the last mission

88
* 1b13m8tftc.tie
!MISSION_107_DESC!The Trap is Sprung!

I haven't used XWA_Piloteer for years, I use an in-game method to get my character to the end, but my 'unlocked' pilot I've had for years I just copy the PLT file across :)
