Some feedback on the new cutscenes, they stutter a lot and hurt my eyes. Maybe @ual002 could remake them like he’s doing for TFTC?
Also, I think DTM could try making a new VCX-100 model, now that Ahsoka came out and we know what the ship looks like in live action.
I think the BFF-1 Bulk Freighter and Container Transport should be remade with consistent-looking Container As.

What are your specs? Could it be a performance issue? XWAU cutscenes are now 2560x1440p.Dylan35794 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 11:17 pmSome feedback on the new cutscenes, they stutter a lot and hurt my eyes. Maybe @ual002 could remake them like he’s doing for TFTC?
Try playing the Mp4 videos from the Movies folder with your usual video player.

FYI, please do not post multiple time in succession. As long as no one answered yet you can simply edit your post if you think of something else. As for your comments, I do not know what could cause the stutter with the videos. Is it just the cutscenes or other videos as well?
The models might get a rework at some point, but remember that we are doing this all in our free time for fun. There are so many things that could use a touch up that you really shouldn't hold your breath on any particular model.

I think he means the interstitial sequences, the new film room, briefing room, simulator room etc. since those are "new".m0rgg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 7:24 amWhat are your specs? The film room, briefing room, simulator room are brand new as said above.
The battle cut scenes will be remade in time but this is a LOT of work.
There can be a a small pause between the movie and the mission screen. This could vary depending on computer but it certainly shouldn't hurt your eyes.
The game has improved a lot over 25 years, so I think a few small issues are nothing compared to the advances we've made.

I think the cutscene videos have also been converted to MP4 and upscaled for XWAU2024, right Ace?

I mean the battle cutscenes, the HD remasters aren’t perfect, I know AI remasters have that quirk.Erd wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 12:23 pmI think he means the interstitial sequences, the new film room, briefing room, simulator room etc. since those are "new".m0rgg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 7:24 amWhat are your specs? DTM is on an extended leave of absence and has plenty of plans of ships he would like to do. But a new Ghost would be cool.
A new Bulk Freighter has been in progress for a long long time now. Not expected to release soon.

Try installing XWA outside of C:\Program Files\ (C:\Games\XWAlliance, for example). System folders and installers tend to not get along very well.

Hi everyone. There's been a few Hook fixes recently.
Mostly minor but one fixes so that the AI crafts recharge their shields again.
To update go to the Launcher-Tools Menu. Then click XWA Hooks Updater.

Hi All,
Loving the 2024 update and have followed the instructions for the Steam install on my rig. I'm noticing a lag between the point at which the ships launch from the hangar and the transition to playable space and when I return to the hangar after a battle. Sometimes the program will crash me out back to Windows and I have to relaunch it.
I'm playing mine on an HP with an Intel i7, CPU @ 2.6Ghz, 16 Gb RAM, NVidia GeForce GTX 1650. I've set compatibility to Windows 7 SP2 and turned full screen to off. I've ensured I have the latest drivers for everything I can think of.

I don’t think you need to run it in Win7 compatibility mode. That maybe part of your problem.Demis_Russos wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 3:27 amHi All,

I made a mistake. It was Win Vista SP2. I turned it off to see if that helped but it's still doing what I described.MuttandSolo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 12:12 amI don’t think you need to run it in Win7 compatibility mode. Hey all
Just another quick thank you to the team. I'm currently playing the 2024 update in VR and it's incredible. Many thanks.
On a side note, today I cleared out a space, loaded up the first mission and just stood up and walked around the YT-1300 cockpit. It was a pretty cool experience from a 25 year old game that I still have the original CDs for.
Again, thanks to the whole team. I can't express how awesome it is to play this game in its current state.

Hello. I found your mod and it looks very interesting. However, I have been unable to start a mission. I try to play and make it through the menu just fine, but then it freezes during the mission load. I let it sit for about 5 minutes, and it never loaded under "mission loading". Not sure what happened, but I have been unable to test it. Any ideas?

It just freezes but doesn't crash? That's a difficult one to debug. Can you give us some more info about your system? What specs does your PC have and also importantly what XWA version are you running? (GoG, Steam, CD)xclavex wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 3:28 pmHello. I found your mod and it looks very interesting.
