backdrop - uneven stars

I tried to turn off the backdrop option to have a darker quieter space but it turns out like a bunch of stars squeeze in a square area as the image shows. How do I fix it? I prefer the density outside of the square. Please enlighten. Many thanks! The default backdrop is beautiful, I'd go with it without thought if I was younger and with stronger eyes.

Yes. I made it myself. If there is any interest, just try out my Old-Trilogy-Space.
Just copy the files into your Resdata folder and you are good to go.

Partly. I used space engine to recreate them. I searched for similar looking planets from the original XWA and made screenshots from all necessary perpectives, edited them in Affinty Photo to get the correct resolution and transparencies. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it in my oppinion.

How can this be set to work with the Tie Fighter Total Conversion?
Seems the backdrop and skybox does not change while copying over the relevant files and launching TFTC, however it does work when launching XWA light side.
Can anyone help.
In VR the less backdrop here, the better. Thank you.
