It's teaser time...

I know it's been a while since we last shown something, so we figured it's time to let you peak behind the curtain just a bit. Here is an actual in-game screenshot with multiple hidden little Easter eggs. Let's see who finds them all first!

This is very interesting !! a question: this screenshot is 16/9 do you think to port all briefings and the rest to 16/9 ?
If yes this a massive upgrade.

The collisions icon: Collisions mechanics will allow an X-Wing to take out a TIE but leave the wings flying through space.
6 warheads, divisible numbers are 1, 2 and 3: We will get one new upgrade, 2 new campaigns an 3 new craft.
The ISD isn't firing all crazy at the lone X-Wing: No more anti-starfighter weapons on capital ships.

@the_stag :lachtot: the Easter eggs might be a bit .ire obvious than that. But boy, very creative thinking :thumbs:

@marcop000 yes the idea is to convert everything to 16:9 and make it high resolution

There are 5 0's in your screenshot which means XWAU will be releasing a hyper-realistic XWA remake in the Unity 5 engine.
Invulnerable is on, which means this remake will be invulnerable from any legal complaints from Disney.
Difficulty is Medium which means the team is working hard, but not too hard.

Hm, no ISD appears in the mission so far, so I dare say it could be an overhaul of some XWA missions ? An overhaul of the original campaign would be awesome of course.

Hm possibly new warheads, or a new representation? The payload animations are already older

But I must say it looks good , 16:9 would have been a tip from me now too , hmm the ISD is a Type One , it could also be a hint at the release of the new model Vince created , new mission images apparently

Funny you should say that. I am actually working on a new set of warheads as a side project, tho I haven‘t made it past the missiles yet.

I‘m surprised noone mentioned the TIEs yet XD

You guys are going way too deep into the Easter eggs here, it's nothing nearly as convoluted. It's really more about what you can actually see...

Those would be the Tie Experimentals and keen eyes might realize that the ones shown on the screenshot above look much better than what is currently in the XWAU. The same could be true for the ISD in the background...

But it could also be noted that a lot of the elements shown are in high resolution... In 4k right now. Again, this is an actual IN-GAME screenshot, not a mock-up.

XWAU 6.0? Based on XWA2 == XWAU (Battle 2) and Version 6 (Mission 6)
Better models, 2D textures and a campaign reimagination.
Idk, maybe the reference to Kelvin is also correct :)

So yeah I suppose we can conclude that people don't recognize a fully reconstructed UHD User Interface with high res icons and completely rerendered fonts, if you slapped them in the face with it :P

You know, just a little comparison on what it looks like in the image above and in the game you have right now:

I know the difference is really subtle, but look closely and you might see a tiny bit of increased resolution there...

Fantastic work on scaling everything (except the cursor :P ) up! I could tell the icons and the like were definitely remade/resized.

I do miss the old font, though.

Font can be edited I think.
Tho I don't know what font was used for the original game.

Yes, the font can be set in the hook config to whatever you like. (So one could even have everything in Aurabesh, I think there's a font for that somewhere) The original game used an image to create the text, not sure if that was ever available as a real font... But if someone does create it, it can certainly be used as well.

What I see is that you've enabled the mouse wheel so we can scroll craft lists and new buttons too. So crisp you can see inside the craft!

Something I've definitely noticed is that it is a beautiful render, like seriously, looking at the full size image, it is a sight to behold for sure!

Thanks :) I am currently redoing all mission pictures so that they can be used for the HD rework. Those will be 1455x1170 but there will also be 1920x1080 variants available at some point. Thankfully the scenes I made a few while back were mostly usable for the high resolution versions. Plus I have found a new way to tweak the images so the final results will have a little bonus in them as well ;)
