[Solved] Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Z Axis Sensitivity

Hello,

I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick. The z-axis/rudder is hyper sensitive, such that if I twist even a tiny amount, the ship rolls hard to one side. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the sensitivity of the roll such that this doesn't happen. I haven't had any luck using Logitech's drivers (for some reason, even when I set the sensitivity in the Logitech program, nothing happens when playing XWA Upgrade).

Does anyone have a solution for this issue? Separately, would this problem be solved if I bought another joystick? I noticed there are some slightly higher end sticks on the market that also have twist rudder control.

Thank you!

Hello,
Here is something you can try.

I've added settings to multiply the value of each axis.
The default value is 1.0
Enter higher values to speed up movements.
Enter slower values to slow down movements.

To use it, extract the zip except the readme into your xwa directory.
Before doing that, make a backup of the replaced files.

Thank you. I tried this but it doesn't seem to change anything. One thing I should have added to my original post is that I'm trying to do this within Tie Fighter Total Conversion (TFTC), although I'm not sure it should make any difference.

Could you be more specific as to what I need to do? I followed your directions of extracting the zip folder into the XWA Upgrade folder, and then i went into "JoystickConfig.txt," where I changed "The controller axis used for yaw", "YawControllerAxisIndex = -1"

Please let me know if I'm off base. Thank you so much for your help!

I have that Joystick and I don't have that issue.
Have you calibrated it through the Windows software?

Do you mean the Logitech Windows software? Yes, I downloaded that and tried calibrating it but had no luck. Maybe I just have a defective joystick?

Great. I've had mine for years and use it for XWA. Really nice joystick.
Everything else is really pricey
