I had time today to get this up and running. Great performance on Ultra settings, which is a huge surprise. This is probably not the correct place to report this, but I'm having an issue with weapon recharge settings and shield recharge settings toggling way too fast, and IIRC I had the same issue with the previous version, but I can't remember the fix.
Also, I really appreciate you adding the Royal Guard Interceptor to the craft manager, I've really missed that ship. I found the red skins for it, and I've read the PDF file alluded to in the readme file for those skins, but I can't make heads or tails of it. I remember it took lots of trial and error to get the old RGI to work in Skirmish Mode years ago, looks like I'm still none the wiser.
I'm not aware of any issues with the weapon recharge settings and shield recharge settings toggling way too fast.
Try updating your Hooks from the Launcher

Open the Joystick Configurator, then check the box "Use the POV as regular buttons".
I use my POV to cycle beam, laser and shield settings, had the same issue you describe and fixed it this way.
Thanks team for everything. I've been following the project since 2004, I remember downloading it from Darksaber's OPT station. Fast forward 21 years and here we are, time surely flies!
@Ace Antilles are you the same guy from the "Astilleros Espaciales Pícaro"? Recuerdo que ponías los OPTs convertidos de XWA a XvT en su tiempo, tarea que también hacía con un programa que ya no recuerdo su nombre

.
One minor issue I found is that in the opening of the battle of Endor, textures for the Death Star and Endor itself are not loading, or partially loading. Doesn't bug me that much so haven't tried that much besides updating the hooks and trying a clean install but the error persists.
Thanks again for everything guys, it's good to know there is still XWAU for the years to come

Means you don't have YOGEME pointed at an install of XWAU/TFTC

This is awesome. However, I'm experiencing some crash to desktop issues on multiple missions that didn't happen with the 2024 version. Ex. Battle 4, Mission 3: Mining Colony Under Siege: Rescue Aeron and Battle 4, Mission 5: Abandon Rebel Base at Kothlis. There's also a weird issue on Battle 4, Mission 6: Protect Imperial Computer (Rescue the Corvette Razor mission); none of my wingmen are assisting / firing nor chattering.
I've updated the hooks and DDRAW. Is there another common fix for C2D errors?
Running on an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X and a RX 7900 GRE.

Please check if you see some dump files in your game directory. (The file ending should be .dmp)
If so please upload one to a file service and share the link here.

No .dmp files. Completely deleted XWA (after backing up my pilot) and reinstalled from scratch (GoG version) Then, re-did XWA 2025 from the updater / launcher still crashes. Odd.

Thanks! I knew it was an easy fix, I just couldn't remember the procedure.

Seems pretty cool so far- definitely more stable than the stock game from GOG, and seems to allow better axis mapping. But it REALLY needs a built-in way to set up dead zones for controller sticks.

I think you can do it in Joystick configurator.
Try disabling "Allow for small joystick movements" (which was the default in vanilla XWA).
You can also customize the dead zone with the 3 values just below that option.

I just want to say that I LOVE this! X-Wing Alliance has always been in my top 3 favorite Star Wars games. It is amazing that it has been updated to more modern stuff. I installed XWAU 2025 and even though it's ultimately still the same game it FEELS like a completely new game. I haven't completed the last mission yet so I don't know how destroying the DSII will be but I'm excited to see it. Oh one more thought....one downside to the OG game was the unresolved Uncle Antan betrayal...If it hasn't been done already are there any plans to create a new mission to resolve that storyline?

I once read something that was apparently planned as an add-on for XWA. It was supposed to start with the plot surrounding the pact on Bakura. It remains speculation, but I suspect it would have continued nicely into the EU that was known at the time, with Thrawn and Dark Empire certainly perhaps included.
